No
Problems, No Worries?

Q: Would you like to hear a simple definition of a buddha?
A: Someone with no concerns.
Which naturally leads me to ask the question, is it possible to give
up our concerns? Certainly we can find reasons to be worried, but
to what end?
Does worry help us solve problems faster? Does angst
make us feel better?
Of course the answer to both questions is no. In fact,
being overly concerned, only helps us stay
stuck there. And viewing life through the filter of worry,
only brings forth more stuff to worry about.
And that's the problem with the daily news, isn't it? It seems that
99.9% of what's reported is "bad news". The "news" is simply stuff
someone else chooses to report, and they obviously believe it's stuff we
should focus upon. But where's the good news?
For inspiring events, acts of generosity, kind
gestures, positive progress, exciting discoveries, and beautiful moments
are happening everywhere, everyday, and in vastly greater quantities
than the "bad" news. Yet, the good stuff doesn't make
headlines, does it?
So be aware of those who want you to feel bad, just because they do.
Refuse to succumb to the excessive drama, for it is not an accurate
reflection of reality, unless you choose to use mainstream media as your
filter for what you want to observe, and create in your life experience.
For what you watch on the evening news, and what's reported in the
paper certainly may happen, but it's only one tiny part of reality.
It's slanted, because over time we've come to think that the only news
worth reporting, or paying attention to ... is bad.
Do you see the problem here?
The good stuff doesn't get covered in
proportion to what's actually happening. So if we allow the
majority of our attention to be drawn toward the mainstream media
choices, we may start to believe that perspective of doom, gloom,
scarcity and danger.
When that happens, we give away our freedom to choose how we feel. We
inhibit our ability to see reality through our own eyes. We give away
our joy.
Yet we have a choice. We can choose to worry about the economy,
or the slumping this, or the unhealthy that, or because we're just used
to having something to worry about.
But the great news is this - we can give up the worry habit, since it
provides no value, other than to keep us there.
What if you make your own news, based on what
you know in your heart to be true? That is, there's nothing
that you can not be, do or create.
How about redirecting your energy away from concerns, in order to
expect the best?
I know this way seem difficult, because we're certainly inundated by a
lot of stuff that can bring us down, if we choose to focus our attention
there.
But isn't an empowering perspective worthy of our attention?
Certainly acknowledge that there are problems, but then also acknowledge
that they can be solved. For we must turn in the direction of the
solution, in order to find it. We must expect the best in order to
receive it.
Envision, and believe in positive outcomes everywhere you look.
For you have the power, through your focus, to create a more empowering
reality.
So choose a perspective that feeds your spirit,
as well as your personal and professional bottom line.
For enjoying the journey, seems like a good plan to me. What do you
think?
