RECLAIMING PURPOSE AND PERSONAL POWER

TIME to EXPAND YOUR POTENTIAL : * About 5 Minutes *

Have you ever wondered about your role in the universe, or if what you do makes a real and lasting difference?

The search for meaning has kept man searching since the beginning of time.

We search for meaningful work, a more balanced and fulfilling life, and for our unique purpose. We wonder - does what I do matter? We want to know that we make a difference.

The answers of course, are yes... without question. But still we search...without realizing that the very act of living makes a difference, and the truth is so simple that we often keep ourselves apart from the answers we seek.

We believe that enlightenment is only for the gurus who mediate 8 hours a day, or can retreat to some mountain top until they get a sudden flash that forever changes them, and gives them divine insight into the meaning of life.

Many of us get caught in the seeking part, and so we never find what we desire, because we believe this state of knowing is only for other people, who are more gifted or special than we are. Yet when we begin to shift our expectations that the answers are truly within us and readily available, rather than out there somewhere imbedded in some ancient secret, that is when we're able to find more peace, meaning and tranquility.

There's a Zen saying that says we must seek without seeking. In other words, we must be curious in order to set the wheels of discovery in motion, and then we must also expect to find the answers.

So explore always expecting to find that which you seek.

It's the very act of living that enables us, each in our own unique way, to grow and make a real and lasting difference.

We do this by sharing our one-of-a-kind blend of talents, perspectives, knowledge, beliefs and life experiences. No one on the planet is quite like you are.

So consider that there are always opportunities to provide value and feel a greater sense of purpose. Maybe you're already doing it, but don't recognize that you are. For our innate talents are often lost on us, we take them for granted and believe everyone can do what we do. But this is not true. And so we miss the significance of our unique thoughts, deeds and actions.

But this is too ordinary we say. Perhaps that's why we miss the point that we have countless opportunities every single day to make a difference, to connect with others in a meaningful way, to know more joy and personal and professional fulfillment. Perhaps this is why we miss it... because we think it's too ordinary.

Maybe it's time to recognize how truly special you are.

For every decision you make, and every thought or deed you express has an impact.

Your daily choices matter. The thoughts you think set everything else in motion, and so we must start there.

For your beliefs create your reality. They lead to the decisions you make, and the words and deeds you express.

When you choose to become a conscious creator, to embrace the significance of your daily decisions, that is when you begin to truly appreciate your place in the universe.

You have countess opportunities everyday, all day to choose positive progress.

How are you exercising your personal power to create the life and work you truly desire, and to give as well as receive?

Through your acts and words, you have the power to help yourself and others grow, you have the power to persuade, educate, inspire, clarify, enlighten, heal old wounds, forgive, learn, build confidence, to uplift others and on, and on we could go.

You have the ability within you to experience more joy, fulfillment, appreciation, prosperity, happiness, or whatever you want to expand in your life.

Yet that same power can be used to tear yourself or others down. Certainly we would not do this intentionally, but through lack of awareness, many people experience unnecessary grief every single day.

Here's what I mean. On average we think more than 60,000 thoughts per day. That's a lot of thinking. Now I ask you, how many of those thoughts are constructive? How many lift you up rather than
tear you down? Do you generally expecting the best, or are you letting doubt, anger or fear rob you of better health and happiness?

Is your inner critic in charge, and keeping you trapped in procrastination? If so you're holding yourself apart from your greatest goals and dreams.

If you find yourself thinking, well maybe someday, when this happens, I'll move forward. That day may never come, because outer circumstances don't determine your reality. You do.

Whatever you seek, begin by believing that you can have it.

This is when you reclaim your personal power, by building up your faith in your ability to have whatever your inspired to be, do or create.

Believe in yourself. Who's more worth it than you? No one, that's who.

So how do you do this if most of those 60,000 thoughts per day are pointed at what's wrong with the world, or why something won't work, or if you're criticizing yourself or others because of past mistakes.

1. Decide what you truly want to experience, what you want to give AND receive.

2. Refuse to let habits, others people or outer circumstances take you off track. We'll always have the media, advertisers and naysayers trying to tell us what to think, eat or buy into. Shut them off, what you think and believe is far more important. What's good for me, may not be your dream, nor should it be. Pay more attention to what you think and feel, and let others have there own opinions. It's for each of us to decide in our own way.

3. Pay attention to your daily choices. Choose perspectives and actions that are aligned with where you want to go.

4. Cultivate your thoughts and words carefully. For they have the power to build or destroy.

5. If the inner citric starts chiming in, talk to yourself as you would a friend or your child. To check if your inner dialogue is primarily constructive or negative, consider this. Would you allow anyone to talk to someone you loved, the way you talk to yourself? If so, you're on the right track and building yourself and others up, if not STOP. Turn toward thoughts that will help you, rather than hold you back.

Self-criticism is a habit most of us form in early childhood, but it serves no purpose other than to destroy your dreams and goals. Certainly discernment helps us make healthy choices. So say yes to discernment and no to self criticism.

6. Use the tools that help you stay present throughout the day so you are able to recognize how your choices and words impact you, and those around you. There are thousands upon thousands of them. You can check out "The Daily Discovery Series" that's part of the "Business Owner's Guide t the Universe" subscription for more help, or use the free affirmations and articles on my website to help you stay inspired. An indispensable tool for aligning with your inner wisdom is to make time for stillness, and to nurture your soul everyday. Read your favorite spiritual and self improvement authors, personally i like Ernest Holmes, Emerson, Eckhart Tolle, Anthony Robbins, Jerry and Esther Hicks, many teachers of the Zen and Buddhist philosophies, as well as scientists such as Dr. Chopra, Dr. Pulos, and Albert Einstein, and many others. Find what resonates with you and surround yourself with stuff that helps you cultivate constructive seeds.

7. Expect the best in every direction you look. Believe that you will achieve what you wish to accomplish.

8. Above all choose to enjoy the journey. Certainly there will be moments that seem like this is an impossible task, but if you say you'll always choose to reach for the best thought, and then mean it, you'll transform your life in ways that you can not imagine.

So in a nutshell, choose to be a conscious creator - Decide, Be, Plan then Do, always expecting the best. For you can be, do or have anything you can imagine. So may you know great joy and prosperity in every single area of your life.
