The
Real prize
Value driven goals give you the needed fuel to continue forward when
faced with unexpected detours. Yet the goal is not the prize.
Your desired outcomes are merely forms of compensation for the energy
shared. So whether you envision more ideal customers, money, or the
satisfaction of knowing that you've made a difference, it’s all good.
Yet the payment is not the prize.
In every area of life and business, the real prize is THE JOURNEY.
When we pause to consider what really matters
- it almost always comes down to ... the experience of "getting there"
that we cherish and remember most. Of course it feels exhilarating to
achieve a goal, without question.
Yet it's the opportunity to:
-
Help yourself and others
-
Share your unique talents
-
Give and feel appreciation
-
Meet new friends
-
Explore and learn
-
Play more
-
Build meaningful relationships
-
Know fulfilling work
-
Experiment with new ideas and concepts, and to ...
-
Expand your concept of what's possible ...
that are the essential
ingredients of a balanced and fulfilling life. It's the
journey that really matters, isn't it?
In the end we often find, that we don't really need more stuff or
external validation to feel happier. We can choose to feel more joy,
enthusiasm or prosperity anytime. These are simply states of
consciousness.
We can choose now to thoroughly enjoy the journey,
instead of waiting for the cosmic tumblers of some yet-to-be achieved
goal ... to click everything miraculously into place.
This doesn't mean that you shouldn't want more money, appreciation,
ideal customers, life balance or toys. Certainly, pursue your unique
dreams, as long as they are constructive, and harm no one in the
attaining of them.
Just don't be dependent upon possessions, a title, relationship,
benchmark, or any outer circumstance to feel your absolute best.
For joy and fulfillment come from the inside
out, not the outside in.
All of the wonderful things that life has to offer, flow to you more
freely, when you are aligned with the qualities of what you want to
expand in your experience.
So when you feel better, you naturally attract more people,
circumstances and stuff that are ideal fits for you, because what
you materialize, is simply an external reflection of how and what you're
feeling on the inside.
So do your best to love what you do, not
because you expect a reward in return, but because the JOURNEY IS AS
IMPORTANT as the DESTINATION.
Offer your work with a sense of lightness and play, and don't be afraid
to truly love what you do. Then expect the best in every direction you
look, and you'll receive the reward of a life well-lived, and more
profits with purpose than you can possibly imagine.
