Transcending Limitations
If we accept that our beliefs create our reality, then doesn't it also
stand to reason that when we change our beliefs, we also change the quality of
our life and business, either for better or for worse?
The beliefs we hold determine the filters through which we view life, which
determine our expectations, and they in turn influence our actions. The end
result is ultimately a self-fulfilling prophecy.
We get exactly what we believe we will receive.
This works without fail, whether we are consciously aware of it or not.
So our past expectations created our current circumstances and what we are
experiencing today is just one of an infinite number of possible outcomes we
could have created.
Yet when faced with circumstances that are not wanted, it's easy to
think, I couldn't possibly have created this!
Our perceived limitations can take the form of not enough money, time or
resources, startling setbacks, feeling disconnected from others or feeling
frustrated because circumstances aren't unfolding as we'd like.
Yet when we embrace self-responsibility, including the
stuff we don't like about our current circumstances, we reclaim our personal
power. This is the most important step toward self empowerment,
because when we accept responsibility for everything that is occurring in our
life right now, we are able to grow beyond our concept of what's possible and
break free of our own self-imposed limitations.
TRANSLATION: If you don't like some aspects of your current business and
life circumstances, you have the power to change them!
The current moment is just one small step in your journey. With each new
experience, you continue to mold your concept of an ideal lifestyle, meaningful
relationships, fulfilling work, ideal customers, and your desired bottom line.
Don't give up if you aren't entirely happy with your
current circumstances. Just keep refining your vision of the desired
outcomes until you are experiencing what you genuinely want.
So the REALLY GOOD News is: you are able to change your life and business
by aligning with an improved vision, one that includes the wisdom you've gained
so far.
Said another way, paint a clear picture of your desired outcome, then align your
thoughts and actions accordingly, always expecting the best!
This is where most people start saying yes, BUT...
and then there comes a litany of reasons and excuses why they can't have
more money or fulfilling work, life balance, enthusiastic team members, get done
or accomplish whatever goal is alluding them at the present moment. If they
really get on a roll, then they consider how other people are so much luckier
than they are. Those who achieve their goals have more time, better connections
and greater resources ... and on and on it goes. Do you see how this type of
thinking strips you of any power to make things better?
As humans, few of us can honestly say that we've never experienced the voice of
the inner critic or the chronic complainer. This is that part of you who wants
to point out the worse case scenario and really enjoys a good pity party every
now and then.
Don't get caught up in thinking that you need to fix every single
limiting habit or belief that may be lurking in the recesses of your mind or
in your environment, before you can experience bigger and better things in your
life and business. That will just drive you crazy and believe me, being a
recovering type A myself, I've tried.
Just release the unsupportive thoughts, beliefs or
habits, one at a time as they surface, and before long ... you'll
make tremendous progress.
Simply turn the negatives into positives, the problems into solutions and issues
into opportunities. This is absolutely doable and will have a profound and
lasting impact.
I'm not suggesting that you suppress or ignore the stuff that isn't working
well. Certainly learn from the experience and then move on to better things.
As a wise teacher once said, " If you understand the nature of probabilities,
you will not need to pretend to ignore your present situation."
Here's what that means, try it on and see if it resonates with you. If you're
feeling overwhelmed by too much activity, then you're overwhelmed, if your
revenue is down, it's down at the current moment. Just don't get stuck there.
Be grateful for the newfound wisdom ... you
now have greater clarity about what you want to experience and create in your
life and business ... whether it's more balance, ease, time with family and
friends or money. Then refocus your attention on refining your vision or goal so
it incorporates what you've discovered.
Your current reality is just one of many probabilities. Your current
circumstances are the result of previous expectations. So just shift your
expectations more toward the positive and focus on your underlying goal.
As you do, you'll release tremendous power. You'll begin the unfolding of a
different reality ... and activate all of the latent strengths, attributes and
resources you'll need to move positively forward toward your new and brighter
vision of a life well lived.
YOU are your great ally when you choose to be! Believe
in yourself and you will never know failure.
May your journey be light and filled with great joy as you make your life and
business your own unique masterpiece.
