Right Planning: How to
Convert a Wish into Reality

We achieve our goals faster with greater ease when we align our
actions with our dreams.
When our actions are on target with our personal success statement, we
experience more joy and feel 100% alive … because we're feeding our
spirit, as well as the bottom line.
When we honor both the dreamer and the doer, we can be, do or create
absolutely anything we can imagine!
But to align actions with goals requires time
for reflective thinking and planning. This is where I've
found many people struggle, because it's so easy to let outer
circumstances determine how we spend our time. Often "busy-ness"
replaces real accomplishment, the activity that will help you connect
with your unique definition of success.
If you resist planning, consider the words of Eleanor Roosevelt when she
said, “It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan!”
So if you want to go beyond the wish and live the dream, explore your
beliefs and habits around planning. For it doesn't have to be complex to
be effective and simpler is often better.
--> Let’s explore the 10 Keys to Right Planning!
1. It ensures right action. You
eliminate unnecessary detours and stay on a path that moves
you toward your desired destination.
2. Because Right Planning is aligned with your “Unique Definition of
Success”, you accomplish more of the right things and enjoy
more of your journey!
3. Right Planning is a necessary part of the
creative process.
4. It helps you take the best route
possible, because you honor your individual strengths and resources.
5. It’s about checking: is this goal aligned with my Personal Success
Statement? Is this idea worth pursing
or will it take me off course? Is it
a distraction or is it aligned with the lifestyle and business you
really want to create?
6. Once you've answered the question – should I do this … you're
ready to move on to the next part of the Right Planning process.
This is where you tap your inner wisdom with
questions such as, what is the best route given my current
responsibilities, resources and priorities?
7. As you tap you inner wisdom, the doing become less work and more
play. The key lies in asking yourself the right
questions. Once you do, your mind will automatically search
for the best answers.
Some powerful questions to align with right action are:
-
How can I build on what I
already have?
-
Who can help me?
-
What resources are best suited
here – mine or someone else’s time, energy, money or expertise?
-
What is the simplest and most
joy-filled approach for me, given my personal talents and resources?
These questions are important
because they help you accomplish more, struggle less and enjoy more of
your journey.
8. Right Planning is iterative. So
it’s always evolving with your current information and experiences. It
allows for changes as you learn, grow and adapt.
9. Right Planning is not rigid. You stay open to opportunities that
naturally appear as you align with your greatest goals and dreams!
10. Right Planning is about
breaking activities into smaller, digestible chunks. This is how you
build momentum and the confidence necessary to step out of your comfort
zone.
Above all, Right Planning is about you catching up with who you want to
be!
So have
fun, expect the best and believe in your dreams!
